I'M BACK!!!!
And this time it's for keeps.
Hi, I’m Ryan Stegman. You may remember me as the artist from such comic books as Venom, The Superior Spider-Man, Vanish, X-Men, and… “That One Book That Sucked That We Don’t Talk About.”
As many of you know, Donny Cates and I started a newsletter under our KLC Press imprint a little less than five years ago. It was fun and everyone had a great time, but work started getting crazy, the whole thing became unwieldy, and ultimately, it came to an end. The world was devastated, I know.
But I’m back now, so the world can REJOICE. Instead of making this a huge enterprise where we employ those snot-nosed kids Griffin and Ethan, I am going to simply do a newsletter where I talk directly to you about what I’m working on, where you can find me, and all that good stuff—the stuff I used to do on Twitter until it became an absolute hellhole.
I want to do this weekly and show you guys as much art as your little eyeballs can handle. I want to talk about upcoming projects and covers I’m doing, and I really want to shit-talk Chip Zdarsky behind his back. So please, nobody forward these to him. This is a safe space from that Canadian menace; nobody wants to hear from him or his thoughts about vaccines. Feel free to talk about how he’s wronged you in the comments section. I feel like that could be the whole newsletter, honestly.
Anywho, first things first—I’m no longer drawing X-Men. Well, that’s not entirely true. I’m writing an X-Men Annual that Steve Skroce is drawing, and I’m drawing some of that. But THEN, I’m officially done with the X-Men for the foreseeable future. I had a great time working on the title and love the X-Men fans. Sort of.
Beyond that, I’m working on a billion covers and a secret project that I am very excited about. I will be writing and drawing a thing, and that’s all I can say!!!!
So with that, we are off to the races. I hope to have one of these in your inboxes every Wednesday. Below are some recent covers I did. I hope you like them, and I really hope you like me.
Love, Ryan
Knull #2. Pencils and inks by me. Colors by Frank Martin.
The aforementioned X-Men Annual cover. Pencils and inks by me, colors by Arthur Hesli.
A good ol’ fashioned black and white version of my Daredevil #1 cover. Penciled and inked by me!
I’m also the series cover artist for Iron Man! Here’s a wraparound I did for issue 1 that, quite frankly, I crushed.

Welcome back dude, gutted you're not on X-Men anymore, was one of the main reasons I jumped back on to it. Id love for you and Donny to team up again in the future aswell as Amazing Friends. Glad to see you back though.
Maybe we'll be at the same con at some point this year and you'll finally have the pleasure of meeting me. Glad to see you back, man!!
